- HANDICAPS will be determined by a computerized system the club subscribes to. All Hartford Golf Club members who intend to participate in club events must have a Hartford Golf Club computerized handicap. Members must post all scores, both home and away, on our computer. The burden of establishing a handicap lies with individual members who must enter their scores on the computer. New handicaps will be computed thirteen ( 13 ) times during the season. Participating members will be issued a card to be attached to their golf bag or carried with them, showing handicap and slope rating. It should be emphasized that no member may compete for prizes in any club sponsored event requiring a handicap unless a handicap has been established using this system, or by authorization of the Handicap Committee.
- EVANS SCHOLARS The evans scholars foundation, the national scholarship program recognized as golf’s favorite charity, has been sponsored by the western golf association since 1930. There are some 930 evans scholars attending 27 universities, including 51 from Wisconsin clubs. Four boys from the Hartford Golf Club have graduated through this program. Each boy/girl receives a grant covering
tuition and housing and is renewable for four years. The average value of these scholarships is in excess of $12,000, and are made possible by individual tax deductible contributions. Information concerning the evans scholars program will be on the bulletin board and at the Pro Shop. Any questions, contact Brad or a board member.
